Program 6: Integration
Program Overview
Why is the Program work important?
The Consortium research will produce a wide range of innovation and insights from five highly specific research programs. It may be challenging for our stakeholders to effectively utilise and implement the findings in the daily practices. Meanwhile, we must ensure that we do not create unforeseen issues that might discourage producer uptake. It is important to evaluate and assess all discoveries from a holistic and integrated perspective to offer a simplified and practical solution to the chicken meat industry for adoption.
Program aim
To ensure that work in the highly specialised areas of expertise represented in Programs 1 through 5 translates into integrated solutions for the poultry meat industry that consider the combined benefit of specialized nutritional and microbial interventions whilst guarding against potential negative impacts on human, animal or environmental health. In doing so, this program will facilitate industry adoption of the findings of the Consortium.
Program focus
The Integration program will:
- Harmonise data and sample collection and processing methods across Program 1 through 5.
- Monitor the impact of novel feed ingredients on the enteric ecosystem, litter quality and presence and levels of specified pathogens affecting broiler health or public health.
- Explore synergy and opportunities to add value to the interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Integrating individual program outcomes through one or more integration trials for industry adoption potentials.
